Incredibly, only a single through-lane was necessary to accommodate I-205 N. and eastbound traffic here. Airport way ended abruptly at the Shilo Inn until 1991.
Only in the last few years have we seen this interchange hit capacity.

It would be six long years before the economy “recovered” enough to sustain development of Cascade Station. Built in a very different style than the original vision of a modern new-urbanist tourist-hub with convention center, lodging and entertainment.
